A young man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle ran into a garbage truck in Ste. Anne des Plaines about 45 kilometres north of Montreal Monday afternoon.
Witnesses have said that the rider was not wearing a helmet and drove recklessly into the truck, which was moving north on Montee Gagnon.
The accident took place outside of the Archambault Institute, a medium and minimum security prison that houses 300 inmates.
Police are investigating.
