Montreal police arrested a man they say robbed a number of banks and businesses Friday.

Investigators picked up Eric Gamelin in Berthierville, 82 kilometres north of Montreal. He was the target of a warrant issued April 14.

Gamelin, 42, is accused of robbing 18 banks and businesses, 14 in Montreal, four in Longueuil and one in St. Jerome.

He is facing robbery and possession of a firearm charges and is expected to appear in court via video conference Saturday.
