The man who kissed a reporter while she was working at the Osheaga concert has apologized for his actions.

On Friday Valerie-Micaela Bain was reporting live on Radio-Canada television when a stranger walked up and kissed her.

She pushed him away, then went on social media later to denounce the man's actions.

"It's unacceptable to kiss me just because you see me on the street or anywhere. It's not suddenly acceptable to kiss a woman just because she's reporting live on television," wrote Bain.

The sexual harassment came as Osheaga and other outdoor concerts are taking steps to reduce the amount of unacceptable acts inflicted on women.

On Saturday the man delivered a letter of apology to Bain.

"I wish I could find the best words to express the regret and the shame that I have been feeling following yesterday's events."

"I crossed the line with reprehensible conduct."

Bain said the act was just one of many incidents that women have to endure while they work.

"I would like to tell everyone, man or woman, that if they are being touched without consent: you have the right to say no," wrote Bain.

She added that she now considers the matter closed.
