St. Jerome police are looking out for a 23-year-old German man who allegedly committed an armed assault on a police officer last Friday.

Police say Andreas Swierkot attempted to drive away while an officer was attempting to remove the car keys from the young man's car. The officer was dragged about 150 feet as the young man drove off at 50 km/h from the Petro Canada on De Martigny W.

The officer was attempting to detain Swierkot after the young man allegedly produced false identification. The red BMW was located in Laval the next day.

Swierkot stands 6’2” (1.88 m) and weighs about 220 lbs (95 kg). He has short brown hair and brown eyes and a scar on his left hand. Police say that he was involved in a similar incident in St. Jerome in May 2012.Anybody who spots him is asked to call 450-432-1111.
