Many Quebecers are taking part in the annual construction holiday, but substantial roadwork will be underway regardless.

Crews will be working overnight Friday on roads that connect to the Mercier Bridge.

The access ramp from Highway 138 will start closing at 9:30 p.m. and remain closed until 8 a.m. Saturday.

Starting Sunday night half of the Mercier bridge will be closed for a full week, starting at midnight Sunday July 23 and lasting until midnight Friday July 28.

Only one lane will be open in each direction as drivers coming into Montreal will be diverted onto the other half of the bridge.

The Airlie Rd. entrance to the bridge will be shut down at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

LaSalle Blvd. will be closed between Tresor Caché Ave. and Lafleur Ave.

Turcot construction continues

This weekend crews will be working around the clock on the Turcot Interchange, closing ramps and highways for the duration.

As of midnight Friday, July 21, the ramp from Highway 15 north to Highway 20 west will closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

At the same time the ramp from Highway 15 south to Route 136 east will also close.

However drivers using Highway 20 east will still be able to access Route 136, which will have one lane open from midnight Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Crews will be finishing the demolition of the elevated ramps that used to connect Highway 15 north to the 720 east.
