An eight-year-old girl and a man aged about 40 were brought to hospital after home invaders targeted their basement apartment in Cowansville Monday evening.
The attackers employed pepper spray on the duo when they broke into the home on Bernard just before midnight.
The SQ provincial police is searching for multiple suspects but has yet to issue a number or description of the assailants.
It also remains unknown whether the invaders stole anything from the home.
