Doug Webb battled some tough health issues in his too-short life but he left a legacy of smiles by bequeathing his adapted van to a family in need when he passed away in January.

Webb, who used a wheelchair, ensured that his adapted 2002 Dodge Caravan be given to a family that could not afford to buy one for their own daughter.

Amanda Cugurs, 7, faces a wide array of health challenges as she lives with Trisomy-18 a rare condition that prevents her from walking.

The Cugurs attempted to raise funds to purchase a van but were far from their needed total when their phone rang with an offer.

“Whe said 'we'd like to offer you a van.' I said you just made our day. For us, for Amanda, our life,” said Eric Cugurs.

The father said that his daughter’s condition makes transportation too difficult in other types of vehicles.

"It takes a lot less time to get her in and out of the vehicle and it's a lot less work for us and for her. She's in her regular chair and not her baby seat which doesn't accommodate her scoliosis," said Cugurs.

Amanda's mother said that she’ll motor with the donor Webb in mind.

“Even after he was going to go he was thinking of others. So that means a lot,” said Esmirna Lopez.
