An accident on the service road off Highway 40 westbound closed down two out of four lanes in Pointe-Claire Monday morning.

A 32-year-old man lost control of his vehicle at 4:15 a.m. and hit a lamppost near the St-Jean exit.

He was transported to hospital and his life is considered in danger, explained police constable Jean-Pierre Brabant.

Due to the police investigation, two out of the four lanes on the service road going westbound were closed.

The police were analyzing the scene and had to close down part of the service road until 10 a.m. Monday. It has since reopened.
