Arsonists tried to burn down a house in St. Hubert while three people were inside.
Around 4 a.m. Wednesday one or more arsonists hurled a Molotov cocktail at the basement of a home on Cornwall St. in the South Shore suburb.
Witnesses spotted a few people fleeing the scene in a car.
The three people in the home managed to escape without injury, and 30 firefighters were able to contain the flames.
Damage to the home is estimated at $50,000.
Police investigators plan to spend Wednesday at the scene in search of clues to the culprits.
