For thousands of Montrealers, Friday morning rush hour got off to a rocky start today, as metro service was temporarily out of commission on three of the Societe de Transport de Montreal's four lines.
The disruption occured shortly after service on the STM lines began-- slightly before 6 am -- due to an electrical equipment issue near the Berri-Uqam station that caused smoke inside the metro tunnel.
The yellow line was completely closed for half an hour, as was the orange line between Lionel-Groulx and Beaubien stops. The green line was shut down between Lionel-Groulx and Honore Beaugrand for about 40 minutes.
All lines have now resumed service as usual.
