MONTREAL - A 40-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed in an apartment on Dezery near Rouen in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve at around 9 p.m. Friday.
The incident occurred after the man came to an apartment where four others were present.
A conflict erupted between the man and another man, aged 25.
The dispute escalated to the point where the younger man allegedly attacked the older man with a knife, seriously injuring him.
The victim was brought to hospital in critical condition but no other information was available as to the exact extent of his knife wounds.
The incident is not believed to be gang-related, according to a Montreal police media representative.
The suspect fled the scene but police located him nearby. It is expected that he will be charged with attempted murder.
