Montreal police have yet to question a man suspected of killing a man in LaSalle.

The suspect is a 30-year-old man who was taken to hospital on Monday afternoon in acute distress, and although his life is not in danger he has yet to meet with police.

Montreal police spokesperson Abdullah Emran said the body was discovered in a home on Lemieux St. near Shevchenko Blvd. around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

One witness said it all happened very quickly.

“I stopped here and said, ‘What the hell is going on here?’ and what did I see, they brought somebody down from the other side of the building,” she said.

Investigators were on the scene overnight, and questioned people again on Tuesday morning.

“There's a lot of footwork to be done in the area and there will be canvassing door to door, possibly witnesses that will be questioned,” said Emran.

Once the suspect is released from hospital, police say he will be transferred directly to the west-end detention centre.
