Police have confirmed that a man found dead in a car in the East End Friday afternoon was murdered.
Police came to an alleyway between de Rouen and Hochelaga near Moreau to respond to a 911 call and found the man deceased in the vehicle at around 3 p.m. Friday.
His vehicle had been parked there for a couple of days, according to Montreal police. The homicide victim was known to police.
The murder is the 20th on the island in 2014, compared to 19 at this time last year.
