Montreal police are investigating a bludgeoning attack in Montreal North.
They were alerted to the incident when the victim called police from the corner of Cremazie and 17th Ave. and told them them had been attacked.
He then told officers that anywhere from six to eight people had forced their way into his apartment on Industriel Blvd. near London St., but that he had been able to run to his car to escape.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for head injuries.
When police went to the man's apartment they found it had been ransacked, and in an adjacent apartment they found several marijuana plants.
Investigators plan to meet with him later on Tuesday to see if he will tell them why he thinks he was attacked.
