A 21-year-old man has died after a drive-by shooting in St. Michel, police have confirmed.

Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said a car was driving south on 25th Ave. when shots were fired at a pedestrian around Robert Blvd.

It happened in broad daylight, around 3:35 p.m.

Witnesses called 911. When police arrived on the scene, the discovered the victim had been shot at least once in the upper body.

He was transported to hospital in critical condition. He died in hospital a few hours later.

Investigators spent Saturday evening at the scene speaking with witnesses to try and determine what happened. They are urging anyone with information related to the crime to call 911 or make an anonymous and confidential call to Info-Crime at 514-393-1133.

No arrests have been made.

This is the second drive-by shooting in Montreal in less than 24 hours. A man in his 30s was shot in Riviere des Prairies Friday evening.
