After four days of handing out water to its residents, the City of Longueuil will close its water distribution sites Sunday
Opened last week because of a ban on consuming tap water, the ban was lifted Friday evening but officials said the water may still smell of diesel fuel.
As a result, the city kept some water distribution centres open until Sunday afternoon, when they were closed for good.
On Wednesday, a diesel spill contaminated the water supply for 300,000 residents in St. Hubert, Vieux Longueuil, Boucherville and St. Bruno, forcing the water advisory to be issued Thursday morning.
