Longueuil police are asking for the public’s help to track down a suspect who tried to lure a child into his truck.

On January 20, a man approached a young student as she was walking after school on Limoges St. near the corner of Guy St.

The young girl told police that the man got out of his truck and waited for her to walk past him. At that point, he went back into his truck and drove up to her near the intersection of Limoges St. and Leo St. That’s when he asked her to get inside his vehicle.

The girl refused and the man drove away on Leo St., but she noticed his truck again a few moments later driving north on De L'Eglise St.

The young student described the vehicle as a gold-coloured pickup truck, with black lines on the hood.

Police have released a composite picture of the suspect.

He’s seen wearing a black cap. The girl said he was wearing light brown pants, work boots, and a black jacket. She also said he had a dirty face.

The police believe he may be around 55 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-711-1800.
