Two horses were on the loose overnight in Montreal.

They managed to escape from their stables located on Des Seigneurs St. in the Southwest borough at some point in the middle of the night.

They meandered around the neighbourhood, chewing on fresh grass growing in empty lots and staying off the streets.

Around 3:45 a.m. police tried to corral the horses but were unsuccessful.

However the trainer soon arrived at the scene and with one sharp yell the horses came running, and followed him back to the stables.

It's not known how the horses managed to get out of their building.
