Funeral services for Senate Speaker Pierre Claude Nolin will take place this Thursday in Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal.

A public viewing for Nolin will take place in a chapel adjacent to the Senate Chambers in Ottawa on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while friends and family are invited to a viewing in Montreal on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Nolin died last week at the age of 64. He had been battling a rare form of cancer since 2010.

He is survived by his wife Camille, three children and three grandchildren.

His family is asking for donations to the Sacré Coeur Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.
