Police arrested four men overnight in connection with the attempted arson of a pizzeria -- two adults and two minors. All four are from Montreal, but only three will face accusations. .

Around 2:15 a.m. a fire was started at the Jardin du Paradis pizzeria on Sir Wilfrid Laurier Blvd in Mont St. Hilaire.

Firefighters arrived to find a smashed window, a small fire that had fizzled out on its own, and the strong odor of gasoline.

At the same time police spotted four men walking in the streets who smelled strongly of gasoline, and upon questioning police found their behaviour suspicious, especially when they couldn't give officers an address despite claiming to live in the neighbourhood.

Both minors, 17,  are accused of breaking and entering, damages, and possession of material to set a fire. One of them is also accused of breaking conditions.

The other accused, a 27-year-old, is facing the same accusations.

All three men are currently detained. Their bail hearings are expected to be held next week, likely on Tuesday.

The second adult was let go by prosecutors because there is no proof against him.
