Child porn charges have landed a convicted child molester and former West Island teacher and principal back in court. David Wadsworth has been in jail awaiting sentencing since August when he pleaded guilty to possessing and distributing kiddie porn, following his arrest over a year ago.
Child porn found on a computer of a man arrested in the U.K. was traced back to Wadsworth. Crown prosecutor Steeve Lariviere says Wadsworth was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
"We found a total of 732 files of child pornography (on the possession charge), and now Lariviere says investigators are busy decrypting more files, which could mean more charges when they return to court in February. "We're looking at charges of production of juvenile pornography."
Wadsworth, who's in his early 50s, has admitted to sexually assaulting 21 students in the past. He was released from prison four years ago after pleading guilty to gross indecency and sexual assault on several students at an elementary school in Pincourt in the '70s and '80s. He was first arrested for child porn possession while he was vice principal at John Rennie High School in Pointe Claire eight years ago.
