Five suspects are in police custody following anti-drug police raids in Rimouski on Wednesday morning.

The operation involved 35 police officers and was aimed at halting the operations of street vendors of cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis.

Police said more arrests could be made.

The five suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon to face various counts of drug trafficking.

The operation was conducted by officers from the Surete du Quebec’s Rimouski-Neigette office and the SQ’s Major Crimes unit.
