An arsonist attempted to burn the Brossard offices of a notary overnight.
Authorities say someone hurled a Molotov cocktail at a building occupied by the firm Bessette Notaries on Grande Allee Blvd. near Gaetan Boucher Blvd.
The incendiary device failed to cause any significant damage, although firefighters gave the building a thorough inspection to be certain.
Longueuil police will be investigating to see if they can find any trace of the suspect or determine a reason for the firebombing.
The notary firm has offices throughout the Monteregie.
