An overnight blaze forced 14 residents to flee their rooming house at Fabre and Mont Royal Sunday morning at about 3:45 a.m.
The fire at 1498 Mont Royal is believed to have been caused by smoking or cooking.
Only one unit was damaged by fire but all residents were forced out due to smoke and water damage.
Nobody was injured and the Red Cross is helping relocate affected residents.
