A St. Jerome house was heavily damaged by a fire Sunday night.

The fire began around 12:45 a.m. in a semi-detached bungalow at 61 André St. and quickly spread to the roof.

Two hours later most of the building's roof was gone, either burned through by fire or deliberately cut by firefighters to prevent the flames from spreading.

It appears firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the adjoining building.

Nobody was hurt in the fire, and the cause of the fire is not known.
