A man is dead following a snowmobile accident in Laval on Wednesday night.
Three friends on separate snowmobiles were heading south on a trail next to Aut-19 at 11:15. Two of them stopped at an intersection while the third lost control and crashed into a snowbank.
Emergency services pronounced the man dead on the scene.
Investigators interviewed the other two men, who were both in a state of shock. Laval police said they plan on meeting with them again, as well as with the victim’s family to determine his level of expertise with snowmobiles.
There will also be a mechanical inspection of the machine to see if a malfunction could be at fault.
