The Conservative candidate in Pierrefonds-Dollard is apologizing after a major faux pas.

The family of a woman who was killed by her boyfriend in 2004 is furious over the party for calling not once, but twice, to try and solicit her vote.

The family of Kelly-Anne Drummond said they are very upset to be receiving these calls.

“I almost dropped the phone, my jaw just dropped,” said her father, John Drummond of the first phone call he received in May. “I was standing and thank goodness, I did not fall over.”

Kelly-Anne Drummond was found dead in her apartment nearly 11 years ago. A steak knife was stuck in her neck.

Her boyfriend, Martin Morin Cousineau is currently serving a life sentence for second-degree murder.

“It is very disturbing and immediately I removed that name from the computerized list,” said Conservative candidate Valerie Assouline.

Kelly-Anne Drummond’s name was not, however, removed from the hefty paper list.

A volunteer called for Kelly-Anne a second time in July.

“It’s a slap in the face…’Hello, can I speak to Kelly-Anne Drummond please?’ Excuse me?!” said her father.

Drummond decided to speak out after hearing about a similar case in Ontario also involving the Conservatives.

Assouline said she is surprised other parties haven't called for Kelly-Anne, too. Elections Canada sends out an annual list -- and it can contain incorrect files.

That’s not good enough, said Kelly-Anne's mother, Doreen.

“The lights should have went on when they saw the name ‘Kelly-Anne Drummond’” she said.

For a decade, Doreen Haddad has been raising awareness about conjugal violence through various fundraisers and events in her daughter's name.

Earlier this year, she presented to Stephen Harper and has always supported the Tories, but said now she has doubts.

“If they have this much difficulty maintaining data lists, what's going to happen in the future?” she said.

The party said it now has an updated list and wants to work on pressing issues in the riding.
