The Canadian-U.S. border crossings will be busy on Sunday as the construction holiday comes to an end.

While many Quebecers chose to come home on Friday or Saturday to avoid the rush, the last day of the annual holiday is one of the busiest of the year.

The Canada Border Services Agency said they have mobilized extra staff to ensure that all booths will be open to speed up the passage of vehicles, especially at the crossings in Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Saint-Armand and Stanstead, the three busiest in Quebec.

The agency advised travelers to prepare their passports and purchase receipts in advance.

Wait times will be regularly updated on the agency’s website.
