Robert Gaudette, the escaped murderer who fled the Montee St. Francois prison in Laval, has been captured.

The 55-year-old was found walking on a street in downtown Quebec City Sunday evening and did not resist arrest.

Gaudette fled his minimum-security prison cell last Tuesday simply by opening the window, according to reports.

On Thursday Claude Hamelin of Rigaud was arrested for assisting by housing Gaudette following his flight. The 59-year-old Hamelin was charged in Valleyfield court Friday for being an accessory after the fact.
