Montreal police will investigate the attempted firebombing of a restaurant in Park Extension.

Someone threw a Molotov cocktail through a window of the Liege restaurant around 3:50 a.m.

Employees in the restaurant were able to douse the flames, and spotted two men running away from the establishment.

Firefighters who came to the scene found more incendiary devices in an alley behind the restaurant.

Police set up a large perimeter overnight while they searched for clues and the suspects, and the arson squad will examine the area throughout the day.

There have been several similar attacks in Montreal this month, including attempts to burn cafés in Old Montreal and RDP.
