MONTREAL—An eight-year-old boy and his father suffered serious injuries when their car collided with a pickup truck Saturday morning in Chambly.

Five people were in travelling in a green Volkswagen car just after 10:30 a.m. on Frechette Blvd. when the incident took place. According to the Richelieu-St-Laurent police, the father and son were transported to Montreal hospitals with life-threatening injuries, police fear for the boy’s life.

A second adult in the car, as well as a four-year-old and nine-year-old suffered minor injuries. The single 56-year-old occupant of the pickup truck was treated on site.

Slippery conditions could have been responsible for the crash.
