The light snowfall that fell early Tuesday morning made for rough going on Montreal-area roads and highways.

Police reported multiple fender benders as drivers struggled to relearn their winter driving skills -- and failed.

In one case a small school bus went off the road and into a ditch on Highway 30/530 in Vaudreuil. Nobody was aboard except the driver, and that person was not hurt.

There were no reports of any serious injuries because of Tuesday's many crashes.

The snow stopped falling around 7:30 a.m. in Montreal, but resumed falling around 9 a.m. It likely won't melt until Wednesday, since Tuesday's high temperature is predicted to be 0 C.
