MONTREAL - Neither sleet nor snow nor rain can stop a mail carrier, but work stoppages will be doing just as Canada Post's rotating strikes hit Montreal effective Sunday evening at 11:30 p.m.
The strike will last for 24 hours and is a tactic to accelerate negotiations towards a collective bargaining agreement, according to Jacques Valiquette of the Montreal branch of the Canada Post workers' union.
Winnipeg and Hamilton have already been hit by such strikes.
Negotiations are stuck on such issues such as money, sick leave and work conditions.
