Didier Drogba will play for the Montreal Impact this season… eventually.
The star striker told media on Thursday he will miss the first five games of the season as he will head to Florida to train on natural grass for another month.

The 37-year-old has complained of knee problems which he fears could be exacerbated by practicing on turf.

Four of the Impact’s first five games are set to be played on fields that use turf.
During the off-season, Drogba was the subject of rumours he would be joining Chelsea’s coaching staff.
He missed some of the Impact's off-season training, opting instead to practice in Qatar before joining the team in Florida in February.
