MONTREAL - An 83-year-old man has died after being hit while riding his bicycle in Longueuil Saturday afternoon.
The octogenarian was hurled from his bike after being hit by a car driven by a woman who accelerated after a traffic light turned green at Joliette and Desaulniers at about 1:30 p.m.
The man suffered a head injury but was responsive and was able to tell police his name.
It did not appear that his life was in danger but he died in hospital at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Coroners plan to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
