Montreal police have finally arrested murder suspect Jean Dieuseul in connection with the Christmas death of his girlfriend Juthlande Pierre, who was stabbed to death at age 42 and found in the basement of her Roxboro home on Dec. 25, 1995.
She had been stabbed 15 times, including several times in the head.
The victim was last seen on December 24 when she attended a Christmas party with the suspect, as well as other friends and family. Friends reported her missing on December 29 and 17 days later police found her body wrapped in a comforter and a carpet in her home on 8th Ave S.
Police issued an arrest warrant on her boyfriend Jean Dieuseul, now 52.
But Dieuseul was nowhere to be found following the crime and has been on Canada’s most wanted list for several years following the event.
In March 2012 police received a tip that the suspect might be in New Jersey and with the help of the U.S. Marshall Service, he was arrested Monday in New Jersey and will soon be returned to Montreal to face charges.
