Police have confirmed that Ile Bizard teenager Baris Bakir Sagit died Saturday of head injuries from a car surfing incident.

Bakir Sagit, 16, fell off a Honda Civic on Friday, Aug. 20. in the parking lot of Ecole Secondaire Jean XXIII in Dorval.

The night of the incident, witnesses saw a man on the trunk of a car that was doing circles at the school on Dawson Ave. and Claude St., said Montreal police Const. Daniel Lacoursiere.

The teenager fell off the vehicle and suffered severe head injuries, said Lacoursiere.

No charges have been laid against the 17-year-old driver, but police say the investigation is ongoing.

Two other people in the province were killed in separate car surfing incidents last year.

In July, 38-year-old Kevin Ducharme died from his injuries a week after he fell off the roof of an SUV while car surfing in Dollard des Ormeaux.

Gabrielle Dionne, 17, was killed last August after falling off a car in Drummondville.
