MONTREAL - CAQ chief Francois Legault took on one of the top-priority issues of the electorate by discussing health care Friday.

The CAQ promises to implement a program that would facilitate access to family physicians for all, through the use of family medicine groups.

Star CAQ candidate of the Dr. Gaétan Barrette, former president of the Federation of Medical Specialists, who describes himself as the next health minister, unveiled some of the details.

The CAQ’s announcement was partially overshadowed by the resignation the party’s secretary-treasurer, Marc Deschamps, who had been under fire for his involvement in the Faubourg Contrecoeur real estate project.

Deschamps says he did nothing wrong but said he preferred not to wish the party to suffer the consequences of the negative attention.
