CALI, Colombia--Alix Renaud-Roy of Trois-Riviers, Que., won a gold medal in the women's under-70-kilogram class Sunday at the under-20 Pan-American judo championships.

Renaud-Roy won every fight in her weight division, taking gold with a victory over Ecuador's Erika Corozo.

"Alix had a perfect day. In the final, she pulled off the victory by scoring a yuko and forcing two penalties," said Canadian coach Marie-Helene Chisholm. "She was in control of the bout from start to finish."

Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard (63 kg) added a silver medal while Ana Laura Portuondo-Isasi (78 kg) took bronze.

The men's team was led by Antoine Bouchard, who won silver in the 66-kg category. Bouchard had the upper hand in all his matches before losing to Brazil's Gabriel Pinheiro in the final.

Etienne Briand (73 kg), Zachary Burt (81 kg) and Marc Deschenes (90 kg) added bronze medals.
