Wilde Horses

  • The quality of shots that Carey Price had to face was so very high. His save percentage for the season went down a lot. If not for him, it would have been a thorough drubbing by the Flyers. The Habs are going to have to bring the quality of shots down. It's just too high. I keep saying .930 is the number for the Habs to have a 100 point season and he can do it. But the shot quality has to drop because this is too much in the long run for even Carey Price. Screens. Deflections from three feet out. Lateral across the crease shots. Price is amazing but it's not possible to handle that over and over again.
  • The fourth line continues to perform beautifully. They’re the only line with consistent pressure in the offensive zone. Mitchell, Danault and Flynn are getting hard opposition and hard defensive zone starts and finding success.
  • The best night of the season for Plekanec. He finally got a goal. He worked extremely hard. He gave his line mates good moments.
  • The best forward was again Alex Radulov. I think he may just be the most talented offensive player on the team. What a workhorse, too. What a pick up by Bergevin.

Wilde Goats

  • Andrei Markov has to learn to dump it in better because these cute dump-ins that lead to neutral zone turnovers are killing him. He just doesn't have the wheels to handle it. Get it deep. Keep it simple.
  • Artturi Lehkonen is finding the grind of the NHL season to be taxing. Playing this much hockey has his energy going down each night. He needs a break. Time for Carr to sub him in. Don't know how serious the injury is, but it's time for Carr anyway.

Wilde Cards

  • The Habs worked hard but not effectively in long stretches. The Flyers got goalied. 38-17 was the final shots tally. Philly should have won, but goalie is a position too. Long term though, this season will go south relying on this 40-20 thing each game. For now though, 10-1-1. Two more points in the bank. The bank doesn't ask how pretty it is. The bank just says “Show me the money.”
