Quebecers can expect a cabinet shuffle at the National Assembly now that Pierre Moreau is back at the table.

Moreau has returned to work after being absent for nearly a year due to serious health issues.

Moreau met privately with Couillard Wednesday morning prior to the premier’s final cabinet meeting of 2016. Moreau was also with the premier on Sunday for a brunch in his Chateauguay riding.

Last January, Moreau was sworn in as education minister, but his illness forced a cabinet shuffle. He was given a symbolic role of junior finance minister during his sick leave.

Moreau had been one of Couillard's strongest ministers, and has made it clear he's ready to return to playing a major role in the Liberal government.
