Police say they have found the body of a man missing from Lorraine since last Monday.
Emilio Stinziani’s body was found hidden away in the attic of the family home at 6 p.m., Therese-de-Blainville police confirmed.
Police say an investigation has been launched to determine the cause and circumstances of the 56-year-old man’s death.
No criminal element was at play, they said. Police confirmed the man took his own life.
Over the weekend, dozens of people – friends, family and even perfect strangers – joined the search for Stinziani.
He was reported missing the morning of Aug. 10 when a neighbour saw him leave his house, according to his son Michael. His car, wallet and bank cards are still at his home.
