Police have confirmed a body found in a vehicle spotted in the Chateauguay River belongs to 79-year-old Ernest Rochon.
Rochon was last been seen gassing up his Kia Sedona at Atwater Ave. and Notre Dame St. in early April.
Chateauguay police recently received a call about a vehicle in the river and set up a command post there.
SQ divers were called in and retrieved the vehicle from the water. That’s when they found a body inside.
Chateauguay police now confirm the body is that of Rochon, and vehicle is his Kia Sedona.
The van will be examined by mechanics in order to determine what may have happened.
