MONTREAL - Police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man at 11:25 p.m. Friday near the corner of Maguire and Henri Julien in the Plateau area near downtown Montreal.
Police report that he was believed to have been involved in a fight prior to his death. He suffered injuries to the head but his cause of death has not been determined or disclosed.
The area, a mix of industrial lofts, garages and residential units, sits south of the railroad tracks just west of St. Denis.
Police were unable to provide any further information Saturday morning but they are classifying it as a suspicious death, possibly a murder.
Earlier in the evening a man was murdered in Ville St. Pierre and last weekend also witnessed several murders, but police are unsure whether the latest deaths are related to the ongoing street gang war.
