It seems the body of a missing man with ties to organized crime has been found in Laval.

Domenico Iacono was reported missing on Sunday Oct. 25, with his family saying the 56-year-old man ate dinner with a friend, came home, and then went out again soon afterward.

His car was located on Desy Ave. in Montreal North and police towed it to Laval for an investigation. When they opened the trunk, they discovered a body inside.

The identity of the body has not been confirmed but it is believed to be that of Iacono.

Iacono had a criminal conviction in 2013 for fraud, and he was placed on probation for 18 months. There are also reports that he owed a great deal of money to an organized criminal group.

Montreal police are now investigating the homicide.
