The Beaubien metro station will close on Monday and only re-open Labour Day weekend.

The station on the orange line will be undergoing extensive work including installing a new waterproof membrane, fixing up floor tiles and walls, and replacing granite steps.

Construction crews will also replace doors, windows, lights and signs.

The station closes on Monday May 4 and re-opens on August 31, 2015, although work will continue until early 2016.

The bus loop at the station will also shut down on May 4 and will only re-open on October 17, 2015, forcing the displacement of the stops for the 18 bus, and the elimination of the stop for the 160.

While the metro station is closed the STM will offer a shuttle service running between Rosemont and Jean Talon metro stations.

The 809 bus will run every 2 to 6 minutes during rush hour, and every 10 minutes in off-peak periods.

The STM will also add more buses to the 197 line during rush hour because the Beaubien station is closed.

This is the sixth metro station to face a summer-long closure in eight years for major refurbishment. Jolicoeur closed in 2013, and Villa Maria closed in 2011.
