We have introduced a new way for you to interact with CTVNews.ca.

You can now register your own personal account on CTVNews.ca, or sign-in using social media such as Facebook or Twitter.

By logging into the site, you'll be able to easily manage all of your newsletter subscriptions from one place.

You'll also be able to take advantage of our new and improved commenting system, including threaded comments and social media sharing. Watch for some exciting new features over the coming months that will make use of your new account.

Your new CTVNews.ca account allows you to log into several other Bell Media sites including TSN.ca, Discovery.ca, Marilyn.ca, TheSocial.ca and Toronto's Breaking News CP24.com. If you've already created an account on any of these sites then it can already be used on CTVNews.ca.

Some of you may end up using a “screen name” but we believe that the best comments - in the tradition of old-fashioned letters to the editor in a newspaper - come from people who are willing to leave their names and stand by their opinions. Our moderation policy has always given preference to those commenters who leave real names, and this will still be the case.

By logging into the site, you'll be able to easily comment on stories. The benefits to using this sign-on include:

  • You will immediately see your comment on the site, although moderators will still be checking and approving comments in the background
  • You will see “threaded” comments, meaning you can reply directly to another commenter.
  • You can choose to follow and receive email alerts on comments or replies.
  • Other users can choose to explore those threads, as subtopics emerge in a debate.

On the CTV News side: We will be able to interact with readers and answer your questions, when time allows.

Your comments are important to us. So let us know what you think of the new system.

If you haven’t set up an account on any of the sites mentioned, you're just a few steps away away from creating one now:

Click the button marked 'Login' at the bottom of this page, and either choose a social media account, or choose "Don't have an account yet? Click here."

As always your CTVNews.ca account is:

  • Safe - we store your information securely, and never share it without your permission
  • Spam-free - we'll only send you emails and other messages if you ask for them
  • Convenient - You can sign up for newsletters and alerts with the same login
