André Lallier, content director at Montreal radio stations ÉNERGIE Montréal 94.3 and CHOM 97.7, has died. He was 52.

“Our entire team today lost an irreplaceable professional and a valued friend,” said Martin Spalding, Bell Media’s vice-president and general manager of local radio and TV in Quebec. “Thanks to his love for radio and music and his total dedication to the success of the stations where he worked over the years, André has left an indelible mark on our entire industry.”

Lallier joined CKMF (now ÉNERGIE) in 1983 and is credited with making it one of the most renowned radio stations in the province.

Terry Di Monte, CHOM's morning anchor, said Lallier was responsible for restoring the station to its former glory.

"After hearing yesterday that our friend passed away, I was grief stricken. Andre Lallier was the man responsible for CHOM's renaissance in recent years. He was the architect of many features on the station and helped us get back to our roots," wrote Di Monte.

In a Facebook post, CHOM host and CTV fill-in weather specialist Randy Renaud described Lallier as an amazing man.

"He was a generous, gentle man. And a remarkable leader who inspired us all to go above and beyond ourselves," Renaud wrote.

His career spanned over three decades; he worked for now-defunct Radiomutuel, then Astral and Bell Media before he died.

Lallier had stomach cancer. He is survived by his wife Annie and son Alex.

His family will be receiving condolences at the Sainte-Thérèse Complex of Les Résidences Funéaires Goyer Saturday, Oct. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be a celebration in his honour the same day from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
