Alpine Skiing: Svindal wins Super G in Italy; Canadians place second and sixth

Aksel Lund of Norway grabbed the gold medal in the men’s Super G skiing  race at the World Cup competition held on Dec. 20 in Val Gardena-Groeden, Italy.

Canada’s Jan Hudec finished second, one spot ahead of France’s Adrien Theaux.

Quebec’s Erik Guay finished in sixth place.

The downhill competition is set to take place on Dec. 21.
